Mid Autumn Festival

This weekend is a special one of celebration! In several asian cultures, we celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival. Although from slightly different cultural background, the fundamental concept of this season is a celebration of harvest, family reunion, the full moon, sharing of delicious food and thanksgiving.
In our culture, families and friends get together and sit around a table full of food. And while the kids run around with candle lit lanterns (and god forbid, those battery operated inflatable ones that sing all night through....) in the garden as the adults sit around yolk-filled mooncakes and sip tea and enjoy the moon.
